Poor Copenhagen, poor Danish seat of Parliament,
After researching the state of the city, the state of the area around the gallery space, which happened to include the Danish Seat of Parliament, I concluded that the area needed healing.
Taking my starting point in a colour research, then turning to colour healing with the help from an aura healer, geographic aura measures, light colour healers and finally a shaman, I discovered that this particular area is the city’s solar plexus and that the solar plexus of Copenhageners in general (including my own!) was in bad shape, implying lack of self confidence. The shaman made a spirit travel for the area and she told me that the state of the solar plexus entailed anxiety and hostility towards strangers.
Since the colour of the solar plexus is yellow, I decided that this should be the basic colour in my one-night colour healing of the area.
On a cold May night, I projected coloured light through the windows of the gallery facing the Parliament. People gathered outside and stayed for a long time to watch the colours change.

"Soft performance", Det hemmelige galleri, Herning, Denmark, 2008,
The work was based on research made in collaboration with curator/artist Tijana Miskovic on the city of Herning, where the exhibition where to be shown. We investigated the city and it’s history and had a shaman, who made a spirit travel for the city the objective being to decipher the “mental” state of the city. It turned out, the city had a very male dominated energy, and so I decided to use the pink colour.
The work was a light installation with magenta coloured light dimming up and down which made the curtains look like they were blushing, visible from both the inside and the outside the gallery space.Lighting Design, Visual Arts2011 -
